September 2020 Update

By September 29, 2020 No Comments

A Chairde,

The Residents’ Association Committee hope that you are holding up well during these difficult times. You’ll have noticed that we haven’t been very active in recent months. It was such a pity that we weren’t able to run our great Family Day this Summer and already our Christmas Gathering is in question. Still, some activities continue quietly in the background – maintenance of the main entrance, pedestrian entrance, the Poplar link and the park. Our resident gardener Tom has done great work as usual, right through this pandemic. Among other things, the basketball hoops and boards have been replaced with new, more durable ones and this has proved extremely popular with our younger residents throughout the Summer months.

I’d like to thank Áine Galvin and Aislinn Daly for their service over the last few years. Aislinn decided to step down recently after 14 years of dedicated involvement. She will be sorely missed but it’s a great comfort to know that she’ll always be there to offer her valuable advice – we’ll need it!

We’re hoping to do our Clean-Up Day over the coming weeks and will post details as soon as the date is set.

Due to the current pandemic we were unable to host an AGM in the traditional way so we are now posting the accounts here – 2019 Residents Account Income and Expenditure

In preparation for the Winter ahead the committee are looking to update the list of names & numbers from those who are in a position to make themselves available to their immediate neighbours to run small errands etc, should Dublin move to level four as part of the Covid-19 future planning. Please contact us if you would like your name removed from the list for any reason. Respecting social distancing, this list will be sent to residents via a letter drop over the coming days.

Finally with regard to the membership subscription this year we will not, for obvious reasons, be going from door to door to collect. We would ask that you to use the bank details below to to make your contribution electronically. For those who would prefer to make their contribution directly via cash or cheque, we will send out details of nominated houses where you can drop in your subs. Please include house details and advise if you wish to receive a membership card for 2020.
