Courtlands Fun Day 2012

Despite a bad weather forecast and the wind and rain the Courtlands Fun Day went ahead on Saturday the 16th of June. The sun actually made an appearance to brighten up proceedings. The bunting adorned the trees in the park and watched over numerous events, including running, egg and spoon and sack races. Meanwhile a deadly soccer match was taking place between an eager group of lads of all ages!!

This year saw the introduction of a BBQ manned by our very own Fionan and Paula O’ Connell. This proved a very welcome addition and Fionan sold out his stock before the day was out!

The brave men of the Dublin Fire Brigade once again came along and thrilled some of the younger Children with a chance to sit in the fire engine, and gave a display of the powerful water hoses.

For the first time this year we were joined by Formula Fun, which was a brilliant go kart attraction featuring small electric go-karts within a blow up track. It was a great success!

The day concluded with our usual raffle for both children and adults, which again proved very popular. We would like to thank everyone who supported us on the day and to the following businesses who kindly contributed a prize. AIB, EBS, Drumcondra Credit Union, The Ivy House, Andersons, Il Corvo, Hession Hairdressing, Croke Park & The Helix. Please support the local businesses who supported us!.

Each child received a medal and goodie bag and some great memories to take home!!
